About Us

“La Retama” Restaurant, which just celebrated its XXVII anniversary this year of attending the tourist market, is located in the Plaza de Armas of Cusco, a hallmark of Cusco where you can appreciate the Cathedral, the church of the Company of Jesus, the Majestic snow-capped Ausangate and the beautiful Plaza de Armas from the restaurant’s colonial balconies.

We have capacity for accommodating 80 people comfortably.

Everyday from 7:45 p.m. we present our show, with typical Peruvian music and folk dances of Peru. We invite you to browse our website, www.laretamarestaurant.com, where you will find more detailed information about it.

“La Retama” takes its name from a woody plant that can reach up to 2 meters in height. Acquired for medicinal purposes, what is collected are the flowers and branches. Its beautiful and aromatic yellow flowers that accentuate the mountainous roads not only offer beauty but also because they have medicinal properties, the flowers of Retama have been used for centuries in infusions to treat diseases.

Hours of Operation:

“La Retama” Restaurant opens its doors to the public from 11 a.m. Until 11 p.m. with lunch and dinner service. We prepare our buffet for groups with a minimum of 20 people and we thank you for making reservations with us a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

Buffets on the Tourist Menu can be varied by seasonality, inclusion of new dishes or at the suggestion of the client.

Menu

Our specialty is in the creativity and fusion of Andean dishes like:

ALPACA WITH FINE HERBS, served with stuffed mushrooms, Andean potatoes and quint with a malt beer aroma.

TROUT IN WHITE WINE SAUCE AND HONEY, accompanied with quinoa puree with yellow pepper and palmitos au gratin.

MALAYA DORADA, glazed in a Peruvian Aji honey batter served with rocoto soufflé and a typical bean kapchi with fresh mushrooms.

CREAM A LA RETAMA, prepared with corn from the Sacred Valley, olluco, pumpkin and cheese, with beans and aroma of Andean herbs.

BAKED GUINEA PIG: served with rocoto relleno, corn and native potatoes au gratin.

WE ALSO SERVE A VARIETY OF TYPICAL DISHES, CRIOLLOS AND NOVOANDINO DISHES THAT YOU WILL ENJOY.
